Technical information
The data obtained by the drifters and the moored buoys are received by satellites of the Argos system. The Argos program is administered under a joint agreement between NOAA and the French agency CNES .
This system uses the NOAA series polar orbiting satellites.
The data are downloaded in France and are delivered also to the GTS system. Alternatively, the data are delivered to the CHM through the INMET.
The same data are also directly collected by the Brazilian satellites SCD 1 and 2 and CBERS and are delivered to CHM by the DSA of CPTEC/INPE.
